One of the downsides of food blogging is having lots of sweets left over with nowhere to go. Even those with the sweetest of teeth have their limits. If there’s ever a lull of baking posts, it’s usually because I simply have no where left to take these desserts.
Coincidentally, fellow food blogger Chelsea of Chelsea Bakes recently wrote about the same problem. I asked her if she’d like to do a trade and last week received a heaping box of the most delicious pearl sugar molasses cookies. Before even getting to my camera I managed to eat almost half of them, whoops! These cookies had such a great chewy texture and deep molasses flavor without being too sweet, even after being covered in pearl sugar. You can find the recipe on her blog here.
If you live in the Milwaukee area, Chelsea holds a monthly event called Tasting Tuesdays at Anthropologie where you can try her baked goods first hand. And make sure you check out the rest of her blog, it’s a treasure trove of all sorts of sweets. Thank you so much for the cookies, Chelsea!

Yum! These look like tiny bites of joy! Also– loving the new header BTW!
Thanks! My friend designed the logo for me a couple months ago, but it’s only now that I’m getting around to making everything consistent.
Ahh Sara! These photos are sooo beautiful! And I’m so glad you enjoyed these cookies! It completely made my day to see this on your site this morning. Thank you so much for posting and linking to my blog
Thank you for the cookies! It was so hard to ration them throughout the week. My boyfriend kept on sneaking bites while I’d be at work, so I’d come home to one less cookie every day!
looks amazing! The pearl sugar on top makes them look even sweeter and more delish!
They were absolutely delicious, and the pearl sugar cave it such a nice crunch.
So sweet that you did a trade, this looks so cute. BTW, my dad will totally eat all your leftovers – I swear.
Haha, I’m sure he would! I feel terrible feeding lots of sweets to one person though, don’t want to make anyone unhealthy
